Mike Thaman

Mike Thaman has more than 20 years of experience in residential real estate development, particularly in the Frontenac and Ladue areas of St. Louis County. He co-founded Frontenac Builders with Lori Thaman in 2002, and assists the Company with land acquisition, design, and all financial aspects of the Company’s business.

Mike is Managing Director of Frontenac Financial Group, Inc. (“FFG”), a St. Louis-based investment banking firm which he co-founded in 1994. FFG serves the capital needs of early-stage, emerging growth companies nationwide primarily through the institutional private equity market, and provides management and financial services to such companies, including merger and acquisition services. Prior to forming FFG, Mike served as Chief Executive Officer of NationsMart Corporation, a multi-unit retail company based in St. Louis, Missouri. Previously, Mike served as President of New Legends Associates, Inc. in a successful turn-around of a troubled planned community development encompassing 1,000 acres of residential real estate and multiple golf course property located in St. Louis County, Missouri.

Mike served as Executive Vice President of Landmark Bancshares Corporation, a $2.5 billion St. Louis-based bank holding company with 50 bank locations, from 1987 through 1991, when he concluded the successful merger of Landmark with St. Louis-based Magna Group Inc. (now Regions Bank) to form the region’s third largest banking group at that time. Mike joined Landmark in 1981 as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and became Executive Vice President in 1987. As Executive Vice President, Mike directed strategic expansion activities that doubled the number of Landmark retail branches in three years, and directed capital formation programs that raised over $100 million in a five-year period, listing Landmark’s stock on the American Stock Exchange and later on the New York Stock Exchange. Mike is a certified public accountant and, prior to joining Landmark, practiced for ten years with the St. Louis office of KPMG, an international public accounting firm.

Mike has served on the boards of directors of several privately held companies. He is involved in civic matters within the City of Frontenac, presently serving as the City’s Deputy Architectural Design Commissioner, a member of the City’s Facilities Steering Committee and a member of the City’s Public Works Commission. Mike earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
